Our teachers continuously expand their skills and knowledge to provide an optimal learning experience for our students. In November our teachers attended the GLSC (German Language School Conference) Professional Development Conference in New York as well as the Annual Convention and World Languages Expo (ACTFL) in Philadelphia. Our teachers can’t wait to get back into their classrooms and implement many of the latest strategies, practices, and methods in language teaching that they learned about.

After teaching at GLSMC for 14 years as well as taking on the role of Vice Principal for the last three years, Jutta is excited about bringing her broad experience, skills and knowledge to her new role. Jutta is especially “excited about further growing and bringing our school community together – I’m looking forward to welcoming our students and parents in September!” A native of Germany, she came to the USA with her family in 2006. Two of her four daughters reside at home with her and her dogs. An active volunteer member with ‘The Seeing Eye’ in Morristown, she has raised several Labradors and Golden Retrievers. When not taking long hikes with her Irish Wolfhounds, she tends bees and chicken in her backyard, and enjoys a cup of tea accompanied by a Nele Neuhaus Thriller.

Environmental Protection

“Environmental Protection” and the question how we can contribute to making the world a cleaner, better place to live was our theme at this year’s “Sprach- und Spielfest” - our year- end celebration. The teachers prepared different stations where students and families could learn through hands-on activities about recycling, water filtration, create wildflower seed balls and much more. Despite the rain, many of our families and teachers came together to celebrate another successful year of learning German - we can’t wait to welcome our students back on September 7th! Don’t forget to sign up by June 30th to take advantage of our Super Early Bird Discount.
