Holiday Party

In December, our community came together for our yearly Holiday Party. Our students and teachers sang German Christmas songs and created beautiful winter crafts. Teacher Development & Training

Our teachers continuously expand their skills and knowledge to provide an optimal learning experience for our students. In November our teachers attended the GLSC (German Language School Conference) Professional Development Conference in New York as well as the Annual Convention and World Languages Expo (ACTFL) in Philadelphia. Our teachers canât wait to get back into their classrooms and implement many of the latest strategies, practices, and methods in language teaching that they learned about.

St. Martinâs Day

Meet our new Principal â Jutta Estevez

After teaching at GLSMC for 14 years as well as taking on the role of Vice Principal for the last three years, Jutta is excited about bringing her broad experience, skills and knowledge to her new role. Jutta is especially âexcited about further growing and bringing our school community together â Iâm looking forward to welcoming our students and parents in September!â A native of Germany, she came to the USA with her family in 2006. Two of her four daughters reside at home with her and her dogs. An active volunteer member with âThe Seeing Eyeâ in Morristown, she has raised several Labradors and Golden Retrievers. When not taking long hikes with her Irish Wolfhounds, she tends bees and chicken in her backyard, and enjoys a cup of tea accompanied by a Nele Neuhaus Thriller.

Environmental Protection

âEnvironmental Protectionâ and the question how we can contribute to making the world a cleaner, better place to live was our theme at this yearâs âSprach- und Spielfestâ - our year- end celebration. The teachers prepared different stations where students and families could learn through hands-on activities about recycling, water filtration, create wildflower seed balls and much more. Despite the rain, many of our families and teachers came together to celebrate another successful year of learning German - we canât wait to welcome our students back on September 7th!
