Has anyone been to Union Pork Store? It’s supposed to have great German sausage. Do they have German groceries, like cereal or sweets? Or mostly just sausage/meat?

Yes we have several times.   It is actually run by Polish folks now that keep the German Tradition alive in there. So you will get both Polish and German treats.  Loots of meat (decent meat) not like being in Germany but certainly in that direction. They also sell other goods.  Like a “Tante Emma laden” with the focus on the “Metzger” side.

One more or less local store: Haegele’s Bakery. It’s on the outskirts of Philadelphia and a real gem! They custom-made Martinsbrezeln for me last year when I organized a Sankt Martinszug. The baker had never heard of Martinsbrezeln before, but he was willing to give it a shot and they were as authentic as it could get.

Fun fact: the baker is still using the same equipment his great-great grandfather brought over from Germany.

What about Laugen Wecken ? Or Laugen Broetchen ? I know Lidl sells them and they are ok… but it would be great to get some more authentic stuff…
