The website is run by Dr. Veronika Laughlin is a research scientist in second language learning and assessment as well as the mom of soon two bilingual children. Veronika conducts research in English language learning and assessment at Educational Testing Service in Princeton, NJ. Her main areas of expertise are early second language education, pragmatics, intercultural communication, and task-based language teaching and assessment. Since 2018, she has dedicated much of her free time to Bilingual Babies to support parents who raise their children with English and German.

Bilingual Babies has a German corner with materials, books, ideas, games etc to keep up children’s German.

Language tip: Talking is key! Research has found that live interaction such as reading or talking to a child is more effective than exposure to recorded sounds one finds in television, DVDs, or online videos (Kuhl, Feng-Ming, & Huei-Mei, 2003). #bilingualism #informedparent
